The number crunching is done in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula and the 2010 budget has been approved.
Council approved the document Tuesday night and it includes a two per cent tax increase.
But ratepayers will actually see their taxes drop because of decreases in the Bruce County and education levies.
That means for a home assessed at 100 thousand dollars — ratepayers will see their tax bill drop about 26 dollars.
Mayor Gwen Gilbert says she is excited about this budget because it is such a small increase and they are still moving ahead with several capital projects.
Gilbert says they are in good shape with a new Council for the fall.
Some of the capital projects in this year’s budget include the Side Road 15 bridge and the construction on Sunset Drive.
There’s also the Bluewater Park redevelopment, the Wiarton Arena renovations and a much needed fire truck for the Sauble Beach fire hall.
