The major infrastructure project is going to get underway soon in Hanover.
The 3 million dollar sewer and road reconstruction project tender came in 228 thousand dollars over budget.
The project takes place on 7th and 8th Avenue and on 18th Street.
It will begin in mid to late June and will take 22 weeks to complete.
The cost will be split three ways between the town of Hanover, the province and the federal governments through the Infrastructure Stimulus Funding.
Mayor Kathi Maskell says the project will provide sewer services to the former Bentinck lands that were annexed by Hanover a decade ago.
After ten years of waiting, Maskell is pleased that Hanover’s newest residents will soon have full services.
In order to extend the sewer system across the Saugeen River to the north west end of town — the sewer line will be installed under the river bed just east of the Hanover dam.
The entire project will wrap up in mid November.
