Unit 3 at the Bruce A generating station in Tiverton will be down a while longer.
Bruce Power spokesperson John Peevers says there’s a valve that needs some maintenance in the moderator system of the unit.
Peevers says the company doesn’t usually release any time line for the repairs but did indicate it should be up in running in time for the peak summer season for energy.
He says workers are on the job working as quickly and safely as possible.
Peevers says Unit 3 was shut down almost a week ago but there is usually a unit down at one time or another.
Units 4, 5, 7, and 8 remain at high power while the planned maintenance inspection on Unit 6 continues at Bruce B.
He says the goal of the company is to say away from shutting down units during the summer and winter peaks.
