Are we ready for a showdown ?
Tonight in Junior B Lacrosse, the Owen Sound Bluewater ProTeam NorthStars face the Elora Mohawks in a MidWest Division Game.
The NorthStars have won 3 in a row, accumulating the victories in short order last week with wins Thursday over Guelph, Saturday at Niagara and then Sunday afternoon at home against Oakville.
The streak has vaulted Owen Sound to 2nd place in the Division at 7 & 3 and has them 4th overall in the Western Conference.
As impressive as the Owen Sound streak is, Elora is even more impressive having yet to taste defeat with a record of 8 wins and a tie in their 9 games.
Monday night, Elora kept their streak alive at Orangeville, erasing a 3 goal deficit and scoring 3 times in the last 5 minutes to beat the Northmen 10-8.
I’s been well documented, for at least a half decade, that the toughest division in Junior B Lacrosse is the MidWest.
And yes, periodically, a team outside the MidWest has a season, but team for team, excepting maybe Guelph this year, the MidWest is a jungle.
And for the Owen Sound Bluewater ProTeam NorthStars the difference between being contenders and pretenders could be determined tonight when the Elora Mohawks come to town.
Game time tonight is 8 pm at the J.D. McArthur Arena
