The NHL Playoffs are down to the Final 4, with Game # 2 in both the East and West Final going last night at Philadelphia & at San Jose.
And truthfully it’s tough to watch.
When Detroit & Boston were knocked out, it eliminated any hope of having an Original 6 Final Four.
Did you know the last time there was an Original 6 Final Four was 1967 ? The year the Leafs last won the Cup ? The last year there were only 6 teams in the league ?
Amazing.
In fact, the last time we had an Original 6 Final was in 1979 when Montreal beat the Rangers.
As for an all Canadian Stanley Cup, not this year,…… again.
When Vancouver got knocked out, it extended the non-all Canadian streak to 21 years, dating back to 1989 when Calgary beat Montreal.
So who & what to root for, now ?
Philadelphia ? I never liked Pronger.
Chicago ? No way, since a Hawks win would mean the Leafs would then have the longest Original 6 drought without the Cup
Montreal ? Come on !
