Bruce Power has hired Kincardine’s physician recruiter full-time.
Peggy Zeppieri will look to attract new doctors to both Kincardine and Saugeen Shores.
She was working on a part-time contract with the municipality of Kincardine, but will now be full-time on a contract with Bruce Power.
Spokesperson Murray Elston says it allows Zeppieri to do more and access resources without putting a strain on the municipalities’ dollars.
She’ll also be able to focus on being in the right place at the right time to bring in doctors.
Elston says Zeppieri’s only been working in Kincardine a short time, but they’re very confident in her abilities.
Elston says she will be working with recruitment efforts already in place in the two communities.
The money is coming from the 500 thousand dollars Bruce Power has committed over two years.
The company has committed this money because most of their employees live in Kincardine and Saugeen Shores.
The first big task will be a meeting at the end of this month, which Zeppieri will attend.
The meeting will see doctors from all over come to one place to scope out potential communities to relocate to.
