The Chesley big dig is ahead of schedule.
Arran Elderslie Mayor Ron Oswald says the recent good weather has allowed the contractor to move ahead quickly.
Oswald says by next week — the first two blocks of the the five block project will be done and they were expected to be the toughest of the project.
He says Moorefield Excavating of Harriston has kept the communication lines open between itself and the affected business owners.
The 2.97 million dollar project includes storm and sanitary sewers along with water lines.
