Last night, it was public sector workers.
Today, it’s pharmacy students planning a noisy protest at the weekend conference being held by provincial Liberals at Blue Mountain.
The student pharmacists are planning to be at the resort to call on the Premier to get back to the negotiating table when it comes to the 750-million dollar fund paid by generic drug companies to pharmacies across Ontario.
Pharmacists say the fund is necessary for the services they provide.
The province says it keeps the price of generic drugs artificially high.
After their protest this morning, the student pharmacists will also fan out through town, distributing information on the cuts.
Last night, dozens of protesters bused in from across the province held up people who were entering the conference, handing out information about the wage freeze for public employees.
The Premier spoke at the conference, and last night’s keynote speaker was author Malcolm Gladwell.
Today, the Liberals at the “Imagining Ontario’s Future” conference will take part in brainstorming sessions and seminars.
Economist Jeffery Rubin is this morning’s speaker for the two-day conference, which wraps up Sunday morning.
