Trent Cull has been named as Head Coach of the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League.
Cull, a former first round draft pick of the Platers, takes over for Mike Foligno who stepped down from his position at the end of last season.
Drafted 7th overall by the Guelph Platers in 1989, Cull was an original Owen Sound Plater when the Guelph franchise shifted to Owen Sound in the summer of 1989.
In Owen Sound, th georgetown native played just over a year before he was dealt to Windsor.
Later, Cull was traded to the Kingston Frontenacs.
As a pro, Cull played in a number of spots, including at St John’s, Newfoundland with the Baby Leafs.
Previously, Cull was an assistant coach with Dave Barr & the Guelph Storm and most recently was an assistant coach in Syracuse in the AHL>
Meanwhile, the Peterborough Petes will hold a news conference on Thursday afternoon to introduce their new head coach
