Some pretty wild weather did not put a damper on the 22nd annual M & M Meat Shops Charity BBQ Day.
The stores around our region say despite rain, snow, and strong winds they had a very successful event yesterday.
In Hanover, they raised $2836.00 selling hamburgers and hot dogs plus another 188 dollars in ice cream sales.
The Hanover outlet is also pleased to announce that the Durham Legion stopped by to make a one thousand dollar donation.
A total of $2353.97 was raised at the Port Elgin barbeque, with only 20 dollars in ice cream sales — employees say likely due to the snow and cold temperatures!
And in Owen Sound, over 3 thousand dollars was raised in burger and hot dog sales, while another 212 came in from ice cream.
The Goderich outlet raised just over 17-hundred dollars for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.
But the weather may have affected their overall total as they fell short of their Canada-wide objective of two million dollars.
The national goal was to raise 2 million dollars with all the proceeds going to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.
