The Chesley Legion has received 15 thousand dollars in a grant from the Ontario Trillium foundation.
Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch visited the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 144 in Chesley to hand over the cheque.
MPP Murdoch was joined by OTF representative Bill Walker to present the group with a plaque from the Foundation.
The hall has served as the social hub of the community for so many years.
The Chesley Legion will use the grant to replace original hardwood floors of the 100-year-old-building that are severely worn and damaged.
The Chesley Legion was established 1929 and its mission is to encourage, and support all forms of community service or charitable purposes.
The hall capacity is 120 people.
