More garbage may come up at tonight’s South Bruce Peninsula Council meeting.
A motion was approved in Committee of the Whole last week that called for an end to all free garbage pickup.
The plan is to introduce a bag tag system as of September 1st.
Each bag tag would cost a dollar 50.
The idea is to use the revenue from the bag tag system to improve recycling rates since the municipality has a waste diversion rate of 20 per cent — which is one of the worst in the region.
