Monday will be an exciting day for students and staff of St. Peter’s and Paul’s School in Durham.
Bishop Anthony Tonnos is giving his official blessing to the school’s new addition.
Director of Education Bruce MacPherson says the bishop’s blessing is the final touch for the 2.3 million dollar school addition.
The 11,500 square foot addition includes an expanded gymnasium, two new classrooms, a library, music room, staff room, washrooms and an enlarged office and entrance area.
MacPherson says residents are also invited to take part and tour the new addition.
The celebration will begin with a Mass at St. Peter’s Church followed by a short ceremony and the Bishop’s blessing at 10 AM in the school gymnasium.
There is also a stained glass window mural in the new addition, completed by former St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s school graduates.
