This is the weekend to think about sprucing up your home or cottage with a visit to the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound.
It Grey Bruce’s Regional Home Show – the Home and Cottage Expo — running both today and tomorrow.
Event facilitator Doug Cleverley says the expo offers everything from the kitchen sink to environmentally friendly products for the home and cottage.
Cleverley says they also have many green product businesses being featured throughout the show – from flooring to cleaning products.
Cleverley adds another common theme at this year’s show is the impending HST that will hit Ontarians starting on Canada Day.
He says many home and cottage owners are concerned about how the new collaborative tax will affect their projects.
Cleverley says to help — the expo will feature seminars on the HST and its trickle down effect to property owners.
Cleverley expects this year’s show to be busier than ever because of the red hot real estate market.
Cleverley says there is also something for the kids with a race car simulator and a pit stop competition courtesy of Sauble Speedway.
The expo runs today from 10 am to 5 pm and from 10 am to 4 pm tomorrow.
Admission is 4 dollars for adults and children under 12 get in free.
Cleverley adds that all admission comes with a ballot to enter a draw with prizes that range from a hot tub to a Bruce adventure package.
