Owen Sound is looking at future strategies for the Billy Bishop Regional Airport.
Council has issued a request for proposals for ownership or a lease of the airport.
The City has been looking for strategies for the airport, up to and including a sale of the facility.
Council previously established an airport ad hoc committee to help come up with ideas to either make the airport profitable or decide what to do with it.
A series of principles was adopted — notably that the airport continue to be available for the use of the general public, the military and for medivac purposes.
Owen Sound would also maintain first refusal rights to the airport and its lands in the future.
The RFP closes this month and a report will come back to council at its meeting next Monday.
