This is Astronomy Week, and to get more people with stars in their eyes, the Bruce County Astronomical Society holding a public night sky viewing session.
It takes place tonight at Grey Roots Museum just south of Owen Sound and follows a lecture on Astronomy that takes place in the theatre beginning at 7:30 PM
Bruce County Astronomical Society Member John Hlynialuk will be delivering the lecture and also help with the sky viewing session afterwards.
He says Grey Roots has agreed to dim their light to make the area around the Museum even more conducive to observing the night time sky.
Hlynialuk says three planets will be available for viewing including Venus and Saturn and its rings will be quite visible as well.
He says later in the week, on Saturday, there will be a fun Astronomy event for the youngsters at Grey Roots from 1:30 PM until 4 PM that will see them make a comet with dry ice, see sun spot with special scopes and much more.
Hlynialuk says Saturday evening, they will be taking their telescopes to the Saugeen Bluffs Conservation area for another night sky viewing session, weather permitting.
