The Acciona wind farm project in Armow in Kincardine Township, may be on hold but open houses to explain the project are not.
Company spokesperson Paul Austin says they’re holding an open house at the Armow Hall today from 4 PM to 8 PM.
Austin says the meeting will be an opportunity for both the community and the company to discuss the type of development that should go ahead.
He says a lot of decisions in terms of the layout, the types of turbines to be used and how it’s going to be built and designed have not been made yet.
Austin says the company is looking for suggestions to make the development a better one when the time comes.
Meanwhile, Acciona doesn’t have a contract with the Ontario Power Authority to go ahead with the project.
Austin says if and when the time comes and they get the green light to go ahead, they want to have a lot of their ducks in a row.
Although the size of the project has not been determined it could be up 54 turbines in operation once it’s done.
Environmental studies are underway at this time.
