Management at Veyance Technologies has confirmed the layoff of 22 employees.
Operations Manager James Howell read a written statement today confirming the job losses as of the end of day today.
He says due to changing market conditions and a customer that’s discontinued sourcing its product at the plant — the layoffs were necessary.
Howell says however the company is aggressively pursuing new business and endevouring to improve its market position in hopes of recalling the employees.
The company — formerly Goodyear — laid off about 40 people this time last year and now has about 30 workers still on the floor.
