The community of Saugeen Shores has rallied together to meet the annual goal for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Over 400 thousand dollars has been raised for the hospitals top priority needs.
ViceChair Mary Ann Weickert says the money will be going to a new nurse call system, two new electro cardiograms, four new vital sign monitors and a lab serofuge, which is used for testing blood.
Chairman Brian Wakelin says it was a rough year economically but everyone really pitched in to help the hospital.
Wakelin says we are blessed to live in a community that really believes in the hospital and that has great volunteers and social clubs.
A large portion of the funds raised came from community events such a golf tournaments and the Light the Way Christmas Campaign as well as memorial donations.
Weickert says some of the funds also went to smaller things such as new chairs for the Hospital Lab lobby and a flagpole.
She says their fundraising goal for this year will remain the same – they are just waiting to get more information on what the current year purchasing priorities will be.
