A well known crop input co-op is branching out to help Huron County farmers harvest a new kind of crop — the sun.
Agris Co-operative is launching the Agris Solar Co-operative, a new way for farmers to invest in solar energy.
General Manager of Agris Solar, Jim Campbell says a co-operative gives farmers and other landowners the opportunity to get into the growing green energy market without the risk and expense of buying equipment on their own.
In other words, he says a co-op gives farmers advantages of scale while remaining independant.
Campbell says farmers can get more information at two information sessions, April 13th at the Lucknow Legion or April 22nd at the Harriston Legion.
Pre-registration is required. If you are interested in attending the Lucknow presentation, please call Allen Scott at 519-529-7953. To attend the Harriston presentation you are asked to call Kelly Boyle at 1-800-667-3056.
