Huron Kinloss council is set to go into budget session number two.
Mayor Mitch Twolan says they’ll take another look at the document on Monday, April 12th.
Twolan says they’re still aiming for a 5 per cent increase for 2010.
He says that’s the instruction they’ve given to administrative staff after discovering that just to maintain all services would nick the taxpayer with an almost 16% increase in taxes.
Twolan says some of the problem stems from a loss of fund from the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund to the tune of 268 thousand dollars.
Councillors are hoping to have a final budget pretty well set at their next meeting with a formal approval of the document on April 19th.
