The fallout continues after the removal of Helena Guergis from both the Conservative cabinet and caucus in Ottawa.
This comes as both the NDP and Liberals want Prime Minister Stephen Harper to reveal what allegations prompted him to get the RCMP and the Commons ethics commission to investigate Guergis.
And Bayshore Broadcasting News wanted to know what you thought of the Simcoe Grey MP’s removal from caucus.
Almost everyone we spoke to agreed that Stephen Harper did the right thing in removing Guergis.
One woman said that we shouldn’t be judging her too soon, because there are plenty of rumours swirling, but not many facts out in the open yet.
She says that if inappropriate things come to light, then she should be removed, because we have to hold our politicians to a higher standard.
One man said that although he isn’t a big fan of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, he did a good job in removing Guergis from the cabinet and caucus.
Another woman told us that this should have been done when Guergis threw a temper tantrum at Charlottetown Airport in February.
And one man said that he’s happy, because this was a long time coming.
