Science is a hot topic in Grey Bruce.
Almost 200 students from Grades 7 to 12 took part in the Regional Secondary School Science Fair in Owen Sound yesterday.
Chair John Twelves says the level of talent and projects made it very hard for the judges to pick winners.
In the end — 14 gold medals were handed out as 35 schools were involved in the awards ceremony.
Megan Schlorff of Hanover will once again take part in the Canada Wide Science Fair being held at Trent University on May 15th to the 23rd.
Other Grey Bruce students who will participate include Josie Milhausen, William Huff, Jensen Curry, Larisa Christie and Lucy Cavanagh.
The 17 year old Schlorff has represented Canada at International Science competitions in the past and she will do so again next week in Texas.
Twelves says he hasn’t seen this much local talent in science in a long time.
