A huge drug bust in Grey County has resulted in three people facing charges.
Grey County OPP Constable Steve Starr says in total, about 11 million dollars worth of drugs were seized.
Warrants were executed mid-afternoon yesterday at two properties.
One was on Grey Road 4, east of Durham in West Grey and the other on Grey Road 31, northeast of Feversham in Grey Highlands.
Constable Starr says at the West Grey property — police uncovered over 53 hundred marijuana plants inside a rural house.
At the Grey Highlands farm, another indoor marihuana grow-op was found in a large outbuilding with over 53 hundred plants seized.
Police also seized cannabis buds and leaves at both properties.
The combined estimated potential street value of the marihuana seized at both properties exceeds 11 million dollars.
Police allege that diverted electricity was being stolen and a large quantity of grow
lights and related hydroponics’ equipment were seized at both locations.
41 year old Christopher Poersch of Southgate, 54 year old Itolo Mallozzi of Orangeville, and 54 year old Joe Gianfrancesco of Mississauga have been charged with numerous counts including production for the purpose of trafficking.
The three suspects appeared in Owen Sound court today and their case was put over to tomorrow for a bail hearing.
