Let the road construction season begin.
The federal and provincial governments will pump almost 140 million dollars into highway and bridge repairs and upgrades across Ontario.
The biggest winner on the list is Bruce County.
The infrastructure funding announcement includes 20 million dollars for upgrades on a 67 kilometre stretch on Highway 6 from Mar to Tobermory.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch says he has been pushing for upgrades to the highway for years.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller agrees the work is long overdue.
He says the work will likely also include a bike path out of the National Park near Tobermory.
Also on the list of projects covered by the funding announcement on Wednesday include;
– two million dollars has been earmarked for road work on Highway 9 from Mildmay to Clifford.
– 9.8 million dollars of work will also be done on 9 kilometres of Highway 21 from Goderich north to Sheppardton.
In all, 43 projects will be funded.
Prime Minister Harper, who made the announcement with Premier Dalton McGuinty, says the projects include some of the busiest commuter routes and should lower commute times.
