A Feversham area farmer has pleaded guilty and has been fined for carrying on a licensed activity without a licence.
This follows an investigation by the Ministry of Natural Resources Agriculture Investigations Unit.
Frank Routheut pleaded guilty in Owen Sound court in March, to slaughtering animals without a licence, contrary to the Food Safety Act,
The court heard in September of 2009 — that Routheut slaughtered five cattle at various farm locations, transported the carcasses to his own farm and processed the meat for customers, for a fee.
Routheut was fined two thousand dollars plus a victim fine of 500 dollars.
