Hanover Chamber of Commerce President Michele Hettrick is remaining at the helm for a second term.
She plans to shake things up a little this year by introducing breakfast meetings for the first time.
It’s her hope the morning meetings will appeal to more members who may be too busy to attend later in the day.
Hettrick also plans to invite special guest speakers to come, ones with messages that will benefit the membership.
Continuing to engage businesses on issues that matter to them is another focus for the Chamber.
She says Hanover is fortunate to have such a healthy and vibrant Chamber of Commerce.
Membership numbers have dramatically jumped over the years to 130.
She says in the past — the Chamber used to have to go from door to door trying to sell memberships, and now the businesses are coming to the Chamber asking to join.
Hettrick says joining the Chamber makes good business sense as it provides members with networking opportunities and shared promotion and marketing ventures.
While the recession has certainly left its mark on Hanover — Hettrick says businesses continue to do what they need to do to remain viable.
She says some businesses have even managed to expand during these tough times.
