For the past 26 years, farmers have been gathering in Chesley for the Mid Western Ontario Agri Fair, and they will be doing so once again beginning tomorrow.
The 27th annual event kicks off at Noon on Tuesday at the Chesley Community Centre and is once again sponsored by the local Kinsman’s club.
Club member and organizer Bill Guardhouse says this year’s two day event promises to be bigger and better with about 20 new exhibitors taking part.
He says several of the exhibitors will be highlighting some of the solar power options available to farmers, which allow farmers to generate electricity that they can sell back to the province.
Guardhouse says there is a lot of interest in this proposal as farmers can generate some extra income from their solar investment.
He says there will also be the regular exhibitors at the Agri Fair, including producers and feed suppliers along with equipment manufacturers and distributors.
Guardhouse says what is unique about this agricultural fair, is that the producers and suppliers are all local and also that the fair provides a good chance for farmers to meet face to face with the people they do business with on a regular basis.
The Midwestern Ontario Agri Fair runs Tuesday and Wednesday from Noon until 9 PM at the Chesley Community Centre.
All proceeds from the show will be used by the Chesley Kinsman club for community projects.
