The grand opening of Collingwood’s new library is just around the corner.
Collingwood mayor Chris Carrier says it’s going to be in May, so that staff at the new building can figure out how to use all the new space.
But the current Collingwood library will be opening at the new location on Tuesday, April 6th.
The library has been closed for two weeks in preparation for the move.
Carrier says the original opening date for the library was back in 2008, but there were many setbacks, including the terrible winter weather in 2009 which pushed construction way behind schedule.
He says they wanted the project to be done right, and that meant taking more time.
