Its time to beat the HST and get set for the 2010-11 season at the Owen Sound Little Theatre and Roxy Theatre.
Right now if you purchase individual tickets or packages to any events you will not have to pay the HST up until May 1st, when the HST will starting being included.
President of the Owen Sound Little Theatre, Bill Murphy, says the Little Theatre has four plays to be presented — from the popular musical ‘Hello Dolly’ to the Shakespearian tragedy ‘Macbeth.’
The play Office Hours and Jake’s Women will also be featured.
The theatre series begins in November.
Murphy says they try to make the choices eclectic so a broad audience will enjoy all the pieces.
Murphy says the eclectic taste continues on to the Roxy Theatre musical series with four acts being presented.
The acts range from an accapella group that has been in Owen Sound before and drew a large audience — ‘Cadence.’
Other musical acts to be featured in the series are ‘Sultans of String’, ‘Kevin Fox’ and ‘Sharron Matthews.’
The musical series begins in October.
Murphy says even with the economic times the attendance has always been good at the theatre series as Owen Sound and Grey Bruce is full of loyal patrons of the arts.
