It could be any day now that Huron Kinloss will hear if they’re getting a 100 thousand dollars grant.
Mayor Mitch Twolan says they applied to the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency-Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Funding.
Twolan says they have three proposals before the agency.
He says the programs would reduce nitrates and sediment draining to Lake Huron.
Twolan says in addition they’re looking for funding to run a phosphate reduction program.
He says there is some great state of the art technology out there and he hopes Huron Kinloss can lead the way.
Twolan says the Protection Agency has a conference coming up soon and he suspects that the agency will want to make the announcements on the grants before that.
