This is the last day on the job for Grey County CAO Gary Wood.
He is retiring today.
It’s the end of three decades in municipal government for Wood — who joined Grey County as director of finance in 2001 and became CAO in 2005 upon the retirement of Norm Gamble.
Wood says he owes a great deal of thanks to the councillors and staff with whom he has worked over the years, but it’s time to make way for new blood.
The new Chief Administrative Officer for Grey County is Lance Thurston who’s been working for the city of Kingston.
