The numbers have been crunched and Hanover has completed its budget process.
Mayor Kathi Maskell believes Hanover residents will be very happy with the budget.
Council and staff have managed to whittle the budget down to include a point 7 per cent tax hike (0.7 per cent).
That works out to an increase of $ 8.50 on the average home assessed at 159 thousand dollars.
Maskell is thrilled they could bring in a budget with a small tax hike.
Maskell notes they had a little help since they didn’t lose any of its Ontario Municipal Partnership Funding like other communities.
Maskell notes the budget also includes the completion of three major capital projects this year.
These projects are the new Regional Recreation facility, upgrades the water treatment plant and the new water and sewer system on 7th Avenue.
More details on the break down of the budget will be available once Council approves the document in late April.
