Simcoe Grey’s MPP isn’t impressed with the Liberal’s provincial budget.
The province has announced 310 million dollars to add 20-thousand new spaces to colleges and universities.
PC MPP Jim Wilson says that just means throwing 20 thousand more students into classrooms that don’t exist.
Wilson is also criticizing the budget for its lack of support for hospitals in our area and across the province.
He says a 1.5 percent increase for hospitals is not nearly enough to help the facilities, including the one in Collingwood, deal with their deficits.
Something else that irks Wilson is that agriculture wasn’t mentioned once in the 19 page speech.
Finance Minister Dwight Duncan says the province’s record 21.3 billion dollar debt will be eliminated in 8 years.
Wilson says there’s no proof that it can be done and he doesn’t believe the McGuinty government at all.
