The Peninsula Shores Senior Boys high school hockey team is capping off a great season with a game for a good cause.
The team will play teachers from the school and Bruce Peninsula OPP officers in a game at 2 PM Friday at the Wiarton arena.
Grade 11 students Clasey Kirkland, Dan Denes and Mike Carter organized the event as part of their leadership class.
The course is designed to help students become leaders and take the initiative to plan an event that makes a difference.
The money raised from the hockey game and other school events this year will go to ongoing Haiti relief efforts and to sponsor a child in a developing country.
Students from Grades 4 to 12 who attend the hockey game are asked to make a donation of a minimum of two dollars.
The students hope to raise 500 dollars at the game.
Members of the community are also welcome to come to the game.
