Police are now releasing more information about the body found in Chesley.
South Bruce OPP say they responded to a call of a body lying on the street in front of the Chesley Post Office at 2:36 AM Monday.
Paramedics attempted to revive the female – but she was pronounced dead at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Chesley.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
An autopsy will be conducted Tuesday at 9 AM at University Hospital in London.
A section of 1st Avenue in Chesley was blocked off for the investigation but it has now been reopened and traffic is flowing normally.
The OPP Criminal Investigation Branch has been called in to investigate.
