We’re being asked to be mindful of our water usage today.
It’s World Water Day and organizers of the annual Grey Bruce Children’s Water Festival would like us to pay attention to how much water we’re really using.
Spokesperson Krista McKee just a few simple changes around the house can add up to quite a difference at the end of the year.
Everything from low flow toilets and water-efficient appliances will not only save water — but money in the long run.
Other tips include collecting water in a rain barrel for use in the garden, keep showers to under 5 minutes and fixing dripping faucets can actually save close to 2 thousand litres of water a month.
McKee also encourages us to cut back on the use of bottled water.
The 10th annual Water Festival starts September 28th at the Chesley Arena and teaches local Grade 4 students about the importance of clean water and of saving this valuable resource.
