Simcoe North MPP Garfield Dunlop is tabling a private members bill that will ask the government to arm all frontline police officers with tasers.
And Bayshore Broadcasting News wanted to know if you think all police officers should have tasers.
People we spoke to seemed to be split on the issue.
One man said that he doesn’t think every cop should have a taser, because he doesn’t believe in them.
A woman told us that officers should have them for their own protection.
And another man said that tasers used in the right manner are helpful in controlling people who need to be apprehended.
One man said he used to be on the police force, and told us that proper training of all officers will be important if they are given tasers.
And one woman simply told us that this gives officers an alternative to using their gun, which is a good idea.
