A 17 year old John Diefenbaker Secondary School student has received the Hanover Youth of the Year Award.
Holly Stewart has been recognized for her outstanding volunteer work.
Stewart says she loves volunteering and encourages other youth to get active in the community.
In fact the March Break is a perfect time for teens to get their mandatory 40 hours of community service in.
Stewart says the opportunities are endless, whether its at school, church or in your neighbourhood theres always some way you can help out.
She says volunteering really is its own reward.
Stewart challenges her peers to try their hand at volunteering saying it feels great.
Stewart is very active in her school student and athletic council, she also helped out with the Hanover Olympic Torch Run and is currently trying to start a fundraiser to save endangered tigers.
