A new name on the door of the office for the Chief Administrative Officer in Grey Highlands.
Dan Best just moved into the position on March 1st and brings with him years of experience.
He replaces Glen McAlister who left Grey Highlands to take another job.
Best says he has always had his eye on eventually becoming a CAO but wanted to gain the experience in other fields before heading into the position.
Best was recently an account manager at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
He was also a trustee at the Upper Grand District School Board.
Best says there is some great opportunity for the area and believe very strongly in community involvement.
Writing as strategic plan is Best’s main goal in the position and know it wont happen overnight and this year will mainly be building foundations.
Best feels staff is all on the same page and is very coherent in their view for the future of Grey Highlands.
Best says balancing the needs and the wants of council and the community is a main component of his position.
Best lives in Shelburne and is active in the community and Minor hockey.
