The Junior B lacrosse season is almost 6 weeks away, as the Owen Sound Blue Water Pro Team NorthStars will play their season opener and home opener on April 17th when they host Windsor at the J.D. McArthur Arena.
The NorthStars have had a pretty active off season and their preparation on the floor begins later this month.
Early tryout dates at the Kilsyth Arena begin Saturday March 27th.
Put quite simply, the NorthStars will be under the direction of the firm of Kazarian-Kazarian & Kazarian ( & MacLeod ) this year.
Bryan Kazarian was the last clan member to be introduced this week, joining his brother, Shawn who is the head coach and his father, Mark, who remains as an assistant coach.
A Kazarian relative, Mike MacLeod, is also on the coaching staff.
The Kazarian Krew, by my count, have 13 players already signed for the season ahead, adding 8 players this week, almost all of them defenders and ball hawks who have played with the team previously.
It was a long time ago, but those who played last year with the club, likely have the bitter taste of playoff elimination to Elora in their mouth, and it appears their level of preparation for 2010 has them determined to erase that taste and win big.
I’m Fred Wallace
