Bargaining begins today between Grey County EMS paramedics and members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union Local 250.
OPSEU officials say the talks revolved around paramedics playing catch up to paramedics in surrounding jurisdictions.
In a release – bargaining team chair Paul McKay says their wages are “substantially inferior to those in all surrounding areas”.
He blames a decade of downloading and says they simply want parity with other services.
OPSEU represents about 120 full time and part time paramedics in Grey County.
