Owen Sound’s renewed commitment to build its proposed regional recreation centre doesn’t change anything as far as Georgian Bluffs is concerned.
The township still supports the centre in principle but will not pay any more than it has already committed despite Owen Sound possibly being on the hook for another 8 million dollars.
Mayor Alan Barfoot says they’re going to pay an amount towards the construction of the facility that should reflect the level of participation by its residents who currently use the Family Y.
He says they’re not interested in funding any more than that.
The exact number still hasn’t been determined.
