Grey Roots Museum and Archives is celebrating Black History month.
Community Relations Coordinator Lara Javalyn says there is an extensive exhibit on display until the end of the month called From Slavery to Freedom: African Canadians in Grey County.
Javalyn says it has been up in the past but every time it returns it is a favourite ans is always enhanced.
The exhibit features individual stories of people who made the trip to the area via the underground railway and other means.
There is also photographs and artifacts of black history in the area.
Javalyn says one of the most popular components of the exhibit is for students where they use a board game to spark the interest of black heritage in the area.
Javalyn says this exhibit shows how extensive this area is in black heritage.
The exhibit runs until February 28th at Grey Roots in Owen Sound.
