A unique event to showcase green technologies is coming to Meaford.
Event Coordinator James McIntosh says the Eureka Exchange is designed for small and medium sized businesses to learn more about going green.
The event at Meaford Hall will feature business leaders, innovators, and technology experts speaking about green technologies and green productivity solutions.
McIntosh says what makes this event truly exciting is that it will be broadcast live on the Internet – meaning people from around the world will be taking part.
He says the online audience – which could reach 10-thousand – will be able to watch the presentations and then post their own questions to the speakers.
McIntosh says Meaford was interested in hosting the Eureka Exchange because it ties in with the municipality’s new economic development strategy.
He says one of the pillars of that strategy is focusing on green business, which is an emerging market around the world.
McIntosh says the event partners were also interested in Meaford Hall because it is equipped with state of the art technology that allows for the world-wide broadcast.
While the main event is coming up on March 20th, a free preview event is being held tonight at Meaford Hall from 5 PM to 6:30 PM.
McIntosh says they will showcase examples of businesses that have greened their productivity and also demonstrate some of the technology behind the broadcast.
