It wasn’t such a great year for the Meaford business community — but there’s plenty of optimism for the future.
So says Meaford and District Chamber of Commerce President Geoff Solomon.
The Chamber is holding its Annual General Meeting tonight featuring guest speaker Meaford CAO Frank Miele.
Solomon says he’ll be talking about the town’s new Economic Development Strategy.
He says Meaford tends to be a drive-thru town but given time it can become a destination where people want to come and spend money.
The Chamber will also be electing a new Board of Directors.
Solomon says they currently have 179 members which is down from 200 over previous years but he’d like to see them get those numbers back up.
Everyone is welcome to the AGM — both Chamber members and non-members.
It’s being held at Meaford Hall from 7 PM to 9 PM.
