Now that Hanover’s outdoor ice rink is complete its time to spell out the rules.
Manager of Programs Sherri Walden says they are adopting the HOSE approach — which is Hockey on Odd days and Skating on Even Days.
The 60 by 120 foot ice rink is located at the Kinsmen Ball Park.
The rink will be lit each night from 5:30 PM till 10 PM, there are also washrooms available to the public.
Walden encourages families to take advantage of the free ice time. She says skating is great way to get active.
She is also encouraging the public to take ownership of the ice rink by shovelling off the snow before and after use.
The outdoor ice rink is a welcomed addition to Hanover residents who until now have had to go without ice time while the new regional recreation complex is under construction.
The ice rink was a shared venture between the Kinsmen Club, the Firemen’s Association and the Hanover Recreation Department.
