Kincardine has its first officially declared candidate in this Fall’s municipal election.
Current councillor at large Ken Craig filed his papers last week.
Four citizens are elected as councillors at large in Kincardine’s hybrid voting system.
The one garnering the most votes is automatically named Deputy Mayor–a title that belongs to Laura Haight in this last term.
Kincardine voters also elect in Wards 1, 2, and 3.
This year’s municipal election is being held in October, rather than November.
Most candiates and incumbents are expected to file papers if they’re interested, this summer.
