Owen Sound is officially getting out of the electronic recycling business.
The city is closing its Electronics recycling depot at the Miller waste transfer station on February 27th.
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is now the official certified collection point for electronic waste in this area.
Owen Sound was one of the first communities in the Province to open a Electronics Recycling Depot to residents and businesses back in September 2001.
Since that time the City has recycled over 320 tonnes of electronic waste through the depot program.
The ReStore will be accepting a full range of electronics including computers and peripherals, fax machines, televisions and cell phones.
The ReStore is located on Grey Road 11 just south of Highway 26 east of Owen Sound.
