It’s going to cost a little more to swim, play ball or enrol in summer camp in Hanover this year.
Recreation program rates are going up by about 2.5 percent across the board.
However aquatic rates actually jump by about almost 20 percent.
For example an adult swim will jump from $4.25 to $4.75, aquafit rates are going from $5.50 to $6.00 and adult tot swims rise from $4.25 to $4.75.
Recreation Program Manager Sherri Walden calls the increases a small price to pay for the quality of services that the town provides
She says while it wasn’t easy increasing rates during these economically difficult times it was necessary to offset program costs.
Walden encourages anyone struggling with the new rates to contact the town about the subsidy programs that are in place.
